A native of Derby, Connecticut, Bob married the former Florence Catherine Reidy, of Washington, D.C. Four children. Oldest son is practicing attorney in St. Petersburg, Florida; daughter is practicing attorney (former prosecutor) in Tampa, Florida; second son is practicing attorney (former prosecutor) in Sarasota, Florida; and youngest son is practicing attorney in Sarasota, Florida and former Assistant Statewide Prosecutor.
